Rolex Perpetual 1908, Replacing the Classical Cellini

Rolex has replaced its classical Cellini watch collection with the new Perpetual 1908 collection, paying tribute to the year the brand name 'Rolex' was conceived by founder Hans Wilsdorf. The debut model of this collection combines classical elements with the latest Rolex calibre 7140 technology. Encased in a slim 39mm white or yellow gold case, the watch boasts a water-resistant design of 50 meters, with a polished and fluted bezel akin to the original Oyster Perpetual. The lugs' smooth curvature adds to the watch's elegance.

Drawing inspiration from the Oyster Perpetual of 1931, the dial features applied Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock, along with a small seconds counter at 6 o'clock. The numerals and baton hour markers are faceted white or yellow gold, set against intense black or white dials. Protecting the dial is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating.

The gold screw-down fluted caseback showcases Rolex's new calibre 7140, a Superlative Chronometer certified automatic movement. This movement incorporates the patented Chronergy escapement and Syloxi silicon hairspring, with the oscillator mounted on Paraflex shock absorbers for improved shock resistance. The Perpetual rotor, crafted in 18k yellow gold, offers a power reserve of 66 hours.

The watch comes with a matte brown or black alligator strap, complemented by green calfskin lining, tone-on-tone stitching, and a gold double-folding clasp. The Perpetual 1908 collection exemplifies Rolex's elegance and technological advancements in a refined timepiece.
