Cartier Santos-Dumont Skeleton, Movement Skeletonization

Cartier introduces the Santos-Dumont Skeleton collection, featuring three eye-catching models in yellow gold, rose gold, and stainless steel. The highlight is the yellow-gold version, limited to 150 pieces, with a blue lacquer on the case and bezel reminiscent of last year's successful lacquered editions. The timepieces are powered by Cartier's new in-house caliber 9629 MC, a micro-rotor movement consisting of 212 components developed over two years in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

The Santos-Dumont Skeleton retains its familiar features, including a 31mm case with exposed screws on the bezel and Cartier's signature blue cabochon and blue steel hands. The movement showcases a micro-rotor at 8 o'clock in the shape of the Demoiselle, inspired by aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont's lightweight planes.

Cartier has been actively designing movements specifically for skeletonization since 2009, and the expertise is evident in their latest creation. The skeletonized micro-rotor Santos-Dumont represents a significant evolution from the entry-level quartz watch introduced in 2019.
