Cartier London New Bond Street Exclusive “Crash”, Platinum

Cartier Crash London New Bond Street boutique exclusive edition returns to its most iconic and elusive design. This new release echoes the launch of the Crash in 2019, maintaining its uniqueness as a limited edition only available at the New Bond Street boutique in London, the same location where the Crash was first sold over 50 years ago. The watch case of this edition is made of platinum.

Whenever a new Cartier Crash is introduced, it is worth paying attention, especially when its design pays homage to the original model from 1967. While the brand has always been known for its adherence to the characteristics of its past designs, no other watch captures the excitement of the Crash. Following the introduction of the gold version four years ago, releasing this edition in platinum was a wise move by the brand, and the execution has been carefully considered. It is worth noting that the vintage "London" Crash has never been made in platinum, so this is not just a replica but a reinterpretation of history executed exceptionally well.

From the shape of the case to the layout of the dial and hands, Cartier has made every effort to respect the design conceived by Jean-Jacques Cartier and Rupert Emerson, which is truly admirable. Not only has the dial design been slightly modified, but the brand has also upgraded the movement to Cartier's in-house Cal. 1917 MC. Cartier has also used this manual-winding barrel-shaped Cal. 1917 MC movement in many Tank Louis Cartier and Asymétrique models. With its slim profile of 2.9mm, it fits perfectly with the distinctive case shape and offers a power reserve of 38 hours.
