In the 1990s and 2000s, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore stood as the epitome of large luxury watches. However, shifting preferences in the subsequent decade led to a trend of downsizing. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver emerged as a notable contender, presenting a sensible 42mm case with a thickness of 13.8mm—more wearable and compact than its predecessors. One particular variant, the 2017 release with a white dial and blue accents, caught my eye and proved impressive on the wrist. The mega tapisserie dial and overall craftsmanship lived up to AP's high standards. Despite its diving capabilities, its true charm as a stylish "desk diver" shines, making it a standout in the Royal Oak lineup. While perfect for summer with its white strap, a ceramic bezel would enhance its durability, considering the steel bezel's proneness to scratches. In essence, the ROO Diver is a superb summer timepiece, boasting AP's renowned finishing and heritage, setting itself apart from the classic Royal Oaks flooding the market today. I find it truly appealing.
